Directions to Jesus Christ and Eternal Life
No matter where you go in your life, or where you're headed, there is no more important set of directions than those that lead us to Jesus Christ. Before we find our way to Jesus, we are all lost and wandering through life with no spiritual purpose. However, when we find our way to Jesus, He will give us a new set of directions for our lives, which will guide us through the difficulties and circumstances we face and ultimately take us to our final destination: Heaven and eternal life in the presence of God.
If you are searching for direction in your life, we invite you to follow these directions down the "Romans Road" to a new life through salvation in Jesus Christ:
1. Realize that everyone, including yourself, has sinned, which prevents us from having good standing with God and entering Heaven. And because we are not perfect, we need help to gain God's favor.
"As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE." (Romans 3:10)
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
2. Realize that because we have sinned, there is a penalty that each of us must pay; that penalty is death and an eternity in Hell, away from the presence of God. However, we can accept a gift through Jesus that will pay that penalty in our place, and we can go to Heaven.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
3. Understand that God, in His immeasurable love for us, sent His only Son to the world to die as the penalty for our sins, so that we could have salvation and eternal life.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
4. Understand that salvation is a free gift from God, available to anyone, and that all we must do is accept that gift. The way we accept that gift is to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord of our lives; as the sinless Son of God who paid our penalty for sin, He is worthy of our obedience and dedication.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, but with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:9,10,13)
If you would like to follow these directions and accept the gift of salvation and eternal life in Heaven, you can do so at any time, in any place. Simply pray to God; He is always there to listen. First, acknowledge that you have sinned and need to repent of your sins and ask God for forgiveness. Second, believe that Jesus died to pay the price for your sins and that He has the power to remove those sins from you. Third, confess that you accept Jesus as the Lord of your life, to live for Him and obey Him and trust Him.
If you have prayed this prayer, or if you would like to know more about receiving this gift of salvation and following the directions to Heaven, please contact us so that we can help you.
God bless you.
